• Notes

  Stephen Mouser was the son of David Mouser on of Stephen F. Austin's original 300 settlers of the Great State of Texas. Stephen was born the year his father was given the league of land from Mexico. A league of land is 4,428.8 acres. The land is located in today's Waller County, Texas. David Mouser moved his family to Hempstead County Arkansas and received land grants there. Stephen was married three times and had 11 children. Stephen is buried in and unmarked grave in Springhill Cemetery, AR. In the 1900 census he was 76 years old and living alone in Hempstead County , Ar. He also served in the civil war.
